
6 January, 2011, IMPACS headquarters Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: The CARICOM Implementation Agency for Crime and Security (IMPACS) and the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which will augment the Community’s capacity to respond to natural disasters, regional emergencies and other expansive threat situations.
IMPACS (headquartered in Trinidad and Tobago) and CDEMA (headquartered in Barbados) are respectively tasked with implementing the regional Crime and Security Agenda, and coordinating disaster risk reduction within the framework of Comprehensive Disaster Management.
